| |
Article and pics by Hanna Golingi
Team Taylor Cycles secured 1st place at their first ever race as a team, at the Avanti 6 -hour Enduro in the 4-man division on Sunday the 2nd.
The event was sponsored by Avanti and held at Bennoble, Canungra.
Jay Taylor, Jason Blackmore, Karl Bensemann, and Patrick Campbell made up Taylor Cycles 4-man team at the event. The team clocked in at the 6 hour mark with 14 laps, a total of three laps over 2nd place.
Team captain Jay said he was pleased with their times; especially Karl’s, who had never raced cross-country before the day. Team Taylor Cycles were proud to place 6th overall (out of 171).
Some very impressive endurance riding was on show from the elite of the sport, most notably the Solo winners - Tim Wynan in the Men’s division, John Clews in the 40-plus Men’s, and Anna Beck in the Women's.
A special mention is due to some of the more interesting team names registered – Crushed Onions, Knobzonwheels, and fittingly, Ode to Exhaustion.
Bike demos from Avanti Plus dealers, a jumping castle for the kids, coffee, and a barbeque meant a fun day was had by riders and spectators alike.

Round 1 of the KWT Maxxis Sunshine Series at Beerburrum
| |
Here are the results from the first Qld state rnd. Was a great day and a very well run race with a massive 300 riders. In the morning the track was very muddy so i waited till about 10.15 to do my first practice run. by then the track was almost fully dried up and i still managed to squeeze in 5 practice runs. I hade a pinned race run but unfortunately slid out on a turn and lost all my speed with the next section a slight uphill i was in a big gear. I stomped the pedals and got going again. In the end i was happy with my results. The Tr450 was faultless and rode like a dream.
