PROLOGO Scratch Pro DEA TS Women's Saddle

The Prologo Scratch Pro DEA TS is a good example of just how far Prologo has pushed the envelope with its women's line. The Italian saddle maker not only does what you'd expect, such as giving these saddles women's-specific center cutouts, to eliminate friction, but they also incorporate their Easy Stroke Design, or ESD. If you look at the saddle from the top, you'll notice ESD as a dramatic taper from the tail portion toward the nose. That faster taper (vs. other saddles) reduces the friction of your inner thighs making contact with the saddle, which can cause irritation and subtly rob power -- or force you to alter your pedal stroke, which can lead to injury.

Prologo also gently flairs up the tail of the saddle, for better support and "push off" during seated efforts. And this rounder-topped saddle is also the shape most focused on riders who like to stay seated most of the time, rather than get out of the saddle for climbs.

At the nose of the Scratch Pro DEA TS you'll notice a series of hashes, designed for grip. If you like to scoot forward for aerodynamic descents or paceline efforts, the saddle will provide a subtle bit of extra retention against your shorts. This is also helpful if you want to use the Scratch Pro DEA TS for mountain biking and find yourself farther forward to inch over especially steep, granny-gear pitches.

Speaking of riding in the dirt, the Scratch Pro DEA TS features ridged side protectors, so whether you crash or your bike just tips over in the mud, the saddle cover won't suffer a scratch or tear as easily. The titanium rails of this design also add a bit of durability to the the Scratch Pro DEA TS, without any substantial weight penalty.
